1,000 mT/m, 120 mm ID Gradient Coil installed in a 16.4T magnet
July 2007

RRI introduces a new integrated gradient and shim coil system with 120 mm ID, capable of generating gradient strengths of 1,000 mT/m. The first unit of model BFG-240/120-S7 was installed into a 16.4T magnet at the Max Plank Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tuebingen, Germany.

RRI Installs Whole Body EPR Magnet

RRI's completed the installation of a whole body EPR magnet at the Dartmouth Medical School.

The dipole magnet has a 50 cm free gap, operates at 415 gauss and is equipped with a flat gradient coil, capable of generating gradient strengths of 5 gauss/cm.

Resonance Research invites all conference attendees to visit our booth #229 at the technical exhibition hall.

We will be displaying images acquired with the BFG-S series of integrated gradient and shim coil systems, including:

• Images of mouse brains acquired at gradient strengths of 1,000 mT/m in a 16.4T magnet

• Images of mouse hearts acquired at gradient strengths of 1,500 mT/m

• Use of micro-imaging inserts in whole body magnets

Several examples of RRI's shimming technologies will be displayed, among them:

• Shimming of the human brain at 7T using RRI's shim amplifier with 20A per channel outputs

• A comparison between L&G^TM dynamic shimming and traditional shimming of the human brain at 7T

• L&G^TM Dynamic shimming of the human brain for physiological motion compensation

The latest developments in EPR magnets will also be shown, including portable magnets for ionizing radiation dosimetry of tooth enamel.

Finally, in the magnet management area we are introducing the new SC magnet ramp power supply with outputs of 830A, model MXR-800.
